Plant Virus Apocalypse Cine Art Collection
It all began with an ambitious agribiotechnology project. Seeking a way to protect agricultural crops without pesticides, scientists at the VerdeGen corporation decided to combine nature and science in the most radical way possible: by introducing genes from carnivorous plants into the DNA of conventional crops. The goal seemed noble—to create plants capable of independently destroying pests. To transfer the necessary genes, they used a special plant pathogenic virus, FVX-9, which has an exceptional ability to rapidly mutate and easily integrate into the cells of a wide variety of plants.
But one day, an accident occurred in the lab. An experimental virus escaped into the open environment. Possessing incredible flexibility, it rapidly spread among wild flora, imbuing ordinary plants with carnivorous traits. Things spiraled out of control when FVX-9 adapted to its new hosts and unexpectedly began infecting animals and humans. The virus didn't just cause disease — it inserted plant genes into their bodies, causing their bodies to change. Those infected developed patches of skin filled with chlorophyll, the structure of their tissues and organs changed, and some began to undergo much more profound transformations.
Over time, the virus evolved further. Acquiring new animal genes from infected humans and animals, it began transferring them back into plants, transforming ordinary flora into something else — hybrid organisms combining animal and plant characteristics. The most spectacular metamorphoses occurred in middle and large trees, in which the virus combined a plant-like base with the predatory nature of reptiles. This is how arboreal-reptilian hybrids emerged — giant living trees with flexible liana-like "muscles" and scaly bark, capable of moving, hunting, and defending their territory like ancient beasts.
Since then, FVX-9 has continued to evolve, spreading through pollen, contact, and infected animals. The world has become filled with creatures born from random mutation, oblivious to both human laws and natural limitations. What began as an agricultural experiment has given rise to a new class of creatures—living monsters, fused with the genetic codes of plants and animals.

Experimental phytogenetic virus and the origin of arboreal-reptilian hybrids
*(Classification: Arboris Reptiliformes Mutantis – unofficial name: “Wood frogs” /“Lizard-Tree Hybrids”)
1. Prerequisites of the experiment
As part of the corporation's secret agrobiotech program“GreenGen”A project was initiated to create genetically modified agricultural crops capable of independently defending themselves against pests. The main goal wasintegration of genes of carnivorous plants (in particular, Dionaea flycatcher- Venus flytrap, andNepenthes spp.- pitcher plants) in the DNA of traditional cultivated plants.
The resulting organisms were expected to be able to actively destroy harmful insects, reducing the need for pesticides and increasing crop yields.
2. Genetic transfection technique
To transfer the required genes, ahighly mutable phytopathogenic virus of the RNA+ class, temporarily designated asFVX-9 (Floral Vector Experimental 9).
The FVX-9 was chosen for its ability to:
- Easily penetrates the cells of most angiosperms;
- Adapt quickly to different types of hosts;
- Ensure stable expression of integrated genes in plant tissues.
The virus's genetic material was modified to include sequences encoding plant carnivorous mechanisms and growth regulators to stimulate the development of predatory structures (traps, pitfalls, sensory hairs, etc.) in crop plants.
3. Accident and uncontrolled spread
During one of the testing stages, an error occurredbiocontainment system failureBSL-4Ag laboratory. The FVX-9 virus entered the open environment through the ventilation system, infecting the local flora.
Due to its high mutation rate and ability to recombine with the host's genetic material, the virus can quickly:
- Spread among wild plants;
- Modified their morphology, giving them carnivorous properties;
- Retained infectivity and the possibility of horizontal gene transfer.
4. Interspecies mutations and infection of animals
The key point was that the virus, by adapting, acquired the ability to infectanimal cells, including humans. The virus beganinsert plant genes into animal genomes, causing in infected people:
- Development of photosynthetic tissues and chlorophyll-bearing areas of the skin;
- Changes in the structure of bones and muscles that imitate woody formations;
- Partial or complete degeneration of the respiratory and digestive systems.
In some species, the reverse process was observed - the virus transferred animal genes back into plants, creatinghybrid organisms, combining the characteristics of animals (in particular, reptiles and mammals) and plants.
5. Formation of arboreal-reptilian hybrids
Particularly dramatic changes occurred in large trees infected with the virus after it recombined with the genes of predatory reptiles that entered the system through infected animals.
As a result, a new class of creatures arose -Tree of the Mutant Reptilian:
- Outwardly they resemble massive trees with scaly bark and flexible liana-like “muscles”;
- They have movable crown and root elements that function as limbs;
- They exhibit behavioral reactions similar to predatory reptiles - hunting, territoriality, aggression;
- They have a primitive nervous network based on a modified plant conduction system, as well as “perceptual organelles” made of chlorophyll-bearing tissues.
6. Epidemiological status and classification
- Taxonomy (temporary):
- Kingdom: Plantae/Animalia (hybrid)
- Class: Mutagenica Hybridia
- Order: Arborisauriformes
- View: A mutant creeping tree
- Distribution status:uncontrollable.
- Danger:extremely high; organisms have both the resistance of plants and the predatory activity of animals.
- Method of transmission:contact, airborne (pollen), vector (through infected animals).
7. Note
As the virus continues to evolve,each new generation of hybrids exhibits unique morphological features, and attempts at classification remain conditional.
Researchers note that the virus behavesas a self-regulating gene factory, continuously creating new forms of hybrid organisms depending on the available genetic resources of the environment.

Experimental phytogenetic virus FVX-9 and the origin of arboreal-reptilian hybrids (Tree of the Mutant Reptilian)
1. Summary
This document contains the results of a classified investigation into an accident at a VerdeGen laboratory that resulted in the uncontrolled release of the experimental FVX-9 virus. The leak catalyzed a chain of mutations that led to the formation of hybrid organisms with characteristics of both plant and animal origins. The most dangerous form is considered to be the so-called arboreal-reptilian hybrids.
2. Origin of the FVX-9 virus
Virus FVX-9 (Floral Vector Experimental 9) was developed as part of a program to improve crop resilience. Its original purpose was to transfer genes from carnivorous plants (Dionaea flycatcher, Nepenthes spp.etc.) into the genome of cultivated plants with the aim of endowing the latter with the ability to actively defend themselves against pests.
FVX-9 is a highly mutable RNA virus with broad plant tropism and the ability to horizontally transfer genetic sequences. It was initially thought to be incapable of infecting organisms outside the kingdom Plantae.
3. Accident and spread
During testing at a BSL-4Ag facility, a biocontainment system failure occurred. The virus escaped the laboratory through ventilation ducts. Initial observations of the surrounding flora revealed the rapid spread of FVX-9 and its recombination with wild plants, accompanied by the development of carnivorous properties in the infected plants.
After a short time, the virus demonstratedchange in species specificity, beginning to affect animals, including humans. Numerous cases have been recorded of infected plant-like traits developing in infected animals, including the appearance of chlorophyll-containing patches of skin, structural mutations in tissues and organs, and partial restructuring of physiological functions.
4. Reverse mutations and hybridization
A key stage in the development of the virus was its abilitytransfer animal genes back into plants, which led to the formation of hybrid organisms. The virus acted as a gene factory, combining genetic sequences from different biological kingdoms and creating new life forms that defied classical taxonomy.
5. Formation of arboreal-reptilian hybrids
Particular attention was drawn to cases of infection of large arboreal species following recombination of the virus with genes from predatory reptiles. The result was the emergence of creatures classified asTree of the Mutant Reptilian:
- Morphologically they resemble massive trees with elements of reptilian anatomy;
- They have movable structures that function like limbs;
- They exhibit hunting behavior and territorial aggression;
- They have a primitive plant-type nervous network and sensory organelles.
These organisms pose an exceptional biological and strategic danger.
6. Epidemiological situation
FVX-9 is transmitted by contact, airborne, and vector (via infected animals). The virus continues to actively evolve. Attempts to localize the source of infection have been unsuccessful. Each new generation of hybrids exhibits unique morphological features, complicating identification and classification.
7. Recommendations
- Continue monitoring areas of active mutation.
- Prevent unauthorized access to infected regions.
- Prepare protocols for interaction with arboreal-reptilian hybrids as hostile biological objects.
- Consider destroying all known samples of FVX-9.
